Hello soap people. I just wanted to say I've been reading everything I could find about making soap here and everywhere else over and over and over and over.
When I was a small child I asked my grandmother what the large cast iron kettle was she had in her back yard, and she said it was what she had always used to make soap. I (at the grand old age of probably five) then asked her if we could make some right now!
Well, I'm 53 now. And I didn't use a kettle over an open fire in the back yard, but I just made my first batch of soap!
I hope. Nothing blew up. I didn't blind myself or anyone else in the family. It all came together just like it was supposed to so I have high hopes that it will be soap. I guess I'll know more tomorrow.
Thanks for all the information around here. I couldn't have done it without you.
