Aloe vera juice

Any know if someone who is allergic to aloe vera will be allergic to cp soap made with it?

Does saponification change the aloe vera?

If someone is allergic to aloe vera in topical applications, I wouldn't even chance it. I have many food, environmental, and topical allergies and my reactions can vary anywhere from 'bothersome' to 'struggling to breathe'.

I've got a good friend who's allergic to it and I won't wanna make a soap they can't use. I know the lye monster changes the fats a lot and was just wondering if it did the same to aloe

Since goat milk contains both fat and sugar, I can definitely understand the line of thinking. However, unlike goat milk, aloe vera doesn't have fat; it's mostly water, electrolytes, and sugar.

Most people who are allergic to aloe vera are actually allergic to the latex within the fresh aloe vera. It's that yellow gunk that first comes out of the leaf when you remove it from the plant. I remove as much of the latex as possible before processing my aloe vera gel because I am allergic to latex. I believe I've read that commercial made aloe juice is latex free per US standards.

As I said, I wouldn't personally use aloe vera in a soap for someone with a known allergy. I just wouldn't want to take that chance and most people I know with allergies (myself included) avoid products with ingredients that even have the potential to cause unwanted reactions.
