I was thinking about using Almond Milk and was just wondering if anyone else has tried it and what kind of results it produced. I did see a thread about different types of milk, but I didn't see much mention of Almond Milk. I don't know how much fat is in Almond Milk, though almonds do contain fat so it's conceivable that it has some.

I was also wondering if Tofu might have some interesting benefits in soap. Again, I'm pretty sure it does have some fat in it (surprised me too :) ), but I think it contains some. It's been so long since I've looked at tofu. It does come in various thicknesses--I don't remember how they label it, but it's often used in smoothies and whatnot, so it's not all extra firm...that's it! Firmness is how they differentiate between the thicknesses  Just wondering what your thoughts are about using tofu. If pumpkin works, I think tofu should come in a soft enough variety for a trial right? :p

So many silly ideas in my head this morning

I've been wondering about using Almond Milk as well. Maybe someone has tried it and will post their results soon. :)

I was looking at the Almond Milk at the store today and it does have a decent fat content so that's probably a good start. I was also suprised to find a Soy Milk with more fat than Heavy Cream! I also saw Hazelnut Milk which sounded interesting, but then everything is starting to sound like an interesting soap experiment to me  I assume you'd treat the Almond Milk like any other milk product used in soapmaking.

almond milk

i made 3-4 loafs with almond milk and liked the way it soaped. IMO, coconut milk adds a creamier feel to the end product. (it was much trickier to work however)

YMMV

That is my next project to try is tofu in soap, hopefully I can save some for soap instead of eating it lol. I love soymilk in soap though. I want to try almond next!

Has anyone here even heard of trying tofu in soap? It seems like kind of a crazy idea, but could be wonderful thanks to the benefits of soy. And great for all those vegan soap lovers out there! :D You'll have to let us know how it goes lovethyscent! I may try it soon too, but I've got so many things I wanna try first that it may be awhile before I get to it. I guess that's the story for everyone around here

yeah i would like to know about tofu in soap also. i always have tofu around since my girlfriend is a vegetarian

I have not used tofu....but I do make a castile bar with raspberry leaves and I use Almond Milk for half of the liquid.
It is a favorite among friends, customers and at home. The almond milk adds a lovely creamyness to the bar and I think the bit of sugar in the mix adds to the bubble factor, in the castile at least.
I usually add it in at room temp, at light trace.
