Just was wondering if anyone has experienced anyone having an allergic reaction to their soap? If so what happened and what was the outcome? I just had someone tell me as soon as the person they gave my soap to , as soon as they opened the package up they turned red and their eyes were starting to swell. I asked if the person receiving it had a nut allergy since I use coconut oil and they do have a nut allergy, I was also thinking maybe the frag. oil but they were not strongly scented, this is a first for me I have been getting positive feedback up to this point and now I feel horrible. Thank you for any comments you can share!

Well, I have not had this experience myself as yet, but I got to tell you....anyone can be allergic to anything. Sounds like the person who was on the receiving end of your soap is one of those people who experiences alot of allergies. Could be one of the oils or could be the fragrance You may never be able to figure this one out...so...don't sweat it!

Sorry to hear that happened. You might want add disclaimer about nut oils used on label . Dont let it ge you down. One of the mods has to be very careful due to nut allergies in family hope she chimes in with ideas for all of us.

Thanks for the encouragement, the receiver is 77 years young and she is allergic to oily nuts I was told after the drama I guess she cant eat pistachio nuts and other nuts, the friend of mine who gifted the soaps was mentioning being sued if someone were to have a reaction freaked me out. Thank you for responding as well!!

I had a similar experience with my neighbor. She had a rash and swollen eyes for a few days. I felt horrible to say the least. :(
She told me that certain fragrances have always caused problems for her. Perfumes, soaps and laundry detergents were items that she had to be very careful when selecting.
The FO I had used in the offending soap was Ocean Rain and the amount used was well under the recommended max.
That one bad experience why I don't ever plan on selling and sometimes even leary about giving away my soaps.
