When I was ordered my oil from BeScented it was freshly stocked in her store after being out of stock. It was probably 1 month or so before I remembered to order it.

It was completely brown, with a touch of some kind of separation until I warmed it and mixed it.

Those bars are over 2 years old and doing beautifully.

Oils simply vary in color so why would you stress it. I have hemp oil that is very green and hemp oil that is very brown and also quite color variances in neem oil. Just like natural shea butter, color varies. If it smells fine it is most likely fine, just the color of that particular batch.

Just received on Friday. No expiration date on bottle. More a brown than a green. Maybe a hint of green at most. Contacted vendor to find out if I may have a bad bottle. Never having used it before I Ass-u-med it was good. Now not so sure.... Hopefully I get a response. Paid a pretty penny for it!!!

Jen will contact you, she is good about that. As noted by @GML, the color of the oil can very. I checked several other sites that sell it and it is the same...yellow, green, brown.

So...you have a standard bottle of LB that is naturally on the brown side and you mixed it with yellow oil and you’re upset that it isn’t green. And even if it was green, it will turn brown later...so what exactly os the problem?

I believe she was worried she got old oil, which would cause dos in her soap later.
She either saw pictures or videos of someone making Aleppo style soap and their batter was green.

Kate - I hope you contacted the vendor and are reassured. That is a reputable site, so you should get a timely response to your concerns.

I am intrigued with Aleppo soap and am considering ordering some LBO from the same source and trying a batch. I'd love to see your soap - pictures are always welcome! :)
