Hi everyone!
I've made beer soaps, I want to try making wine soap, but I'm curious as to what other adult beverages can be used in soaps? Has anyone experimented with anything besides beer & wine? If so, how did it turn out? And remember, we all love pics here!:D

I saw a fo called whiskey angel & I thought a whiskey soap would be good, but like you said farmerdaughter, I don't want to waste good booze!

I love beer bars but only use the keg leftovers....nice and flat lol!

I want to experiment with wine.... only the ones I don't want to drink :)

Whiskey sounds fun too! Let me know how they turn out!

i just made soap with red wine a couple days ago, i had to boil it down to half to get most of the alcohol out of it i added it with the lye solution which i dont recommend. Turned it brown :( so if your gonna add it do so at trace. Its supposed to make the soap more bubbly.

I've heard of people using champagne for soaping, but I imagine the sugars in a regular ol champagne ruining it...so if you go that route, I'm assuming you'd need a high-end product and who wants to spend lots of money on an alcohol you aren't going to drink?! :p

Actually, its the sugars in the alcohol that you WANT...they help produce lots of bubbles. You don't want the alcohol or the carbonation though.
I have read the results of someone using whiskey in their soap and that it seized terribly. I don't know if you can boil off enough of the alcohol that it won't cause seizing. But hey...its worth a try! Just simmer it down to at least half of its volume and reconstitute it with distilled water. I wouldn't add it to my lye solution, but that's just me. I would add it at trace like I do when I soap beer or wine.

CaliChan - it depends on your wine (and your base oils and FO or EO) as to what color you get...I use Cabernet Sauvignon and add Madder Root to boost the natural color.

alchemyandashes- surprisingly enough i just pulled my bottle out of the fridge and that is the kind i used

Thanks Shawnee. Paillo, I think I'll try the hard cider after I experiment with the whiskey! I love experimenting, it makes my inner mad scientist happy!
