My skin is sorta dry in spots and in the winter months it gets really dried out. Really. Dried. Out. I *used* to like rubbing baby oil on my skin after a shower. Now that I've gotten into soaping I realize that there are better choices for oils than petroleum based.

But the question is: What oil would be the best choice? I'd like to lightly scent the oil too. I'll need an oil that can stay on the skin but not smother the skin. I am a little prone to acne (who knew at 42 y/o, I'd still be dealing with acne? Yeesh! ) so I'll need something light but not sticky.

I've got a few oil choices on hand. Almond oil, avacado oil, mineral oil and jojoba oil. I've thought about a combination of the oils too.

Do you think I could/should add some Vit. E, too?

Any thoughts on the subject? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

i STILL like mineral oil, honestly. it's great if you need uber protection.

this said, it depends on what you want to happen. jojoba sinks in pretty easily, avocado is more "lubricating", and I can't speak to almond cuz my kids are allergic but many seem to love it. I'd say try each individually and think about how it feels then try to formulate a blend if that seems appropriate.

on your face, specifically, I'd think jojoba oil maybe. or not - my skin doesn't like any oil.

I make a body oil spray with cyclo, jojoba, optiphen, and fo. I love it! Just get out of the shower, spray it on, and kinda pat myself dry. I don't use it on my face though. I am 39 and also have acne issues (seriously? at my age? LOL)

That sounds like a great recipe!
