advertising on etsy

was wondering what ppl's experience has been w/ advertising on etsy, say the beauty and bath showcase, or even main page or wedding page. was it helpful w/ sales etc.?

I don't do the bath and beauty showcase often but the one time I did was great but only brought me five sales. In my google analytics it shows me what days people are viewing my shop so I bought one just for that day. It happened to be a thursday? LOL
