I'll be making an 80% OO / 20% shea butter soap.

Any ideas on additives to give it a nice lather while keeping it mild?

My castile with wine as the liquid has a pretty nice lather, with some fluffy bubbles (can't compare with straight castile because I've never made it). So I would say that adding sugar/honey would also improve the lather.

I think you can use the same measurement for sugar or honey... I have though I usually use honey.

You might also consider working a bit of Castor oil into your recipe... but be sure to recalculate and adjust the lye accordingly. Lately every batch I've been making is about 10% Castor.
