Other than the obvious facial benefits of AC, is there a benefit to using one over the other for coloring? Also, does anyone mix their micas with water? I've seen micas mixed with alcohol, but that was a MP tutorial.

I actually combine a bit of AC with a black mica... I think it looks richer and more sparkly. I don't think micas will mix with mater for the most part. I use a bit of the my batch oils to premix them.

Will using just oxide or mica give deep black as well without turning lather dark? Why would someone use AC for coloring vs. anything else? Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks for answering. Truly appreciate everyone's knowledge.

AC within itself is used for detox properties in soap , some do not use oxides nor micas colorants and use AC instead to get black color in soap, though it comes out dark gray sometimes.
