i don't even know if this exists but is there a thing so that you can actually design you website before you put it on the net? kinda like a practice or pre-website maker??

I don't know how in depth you're wanting to get with the practice website you make, but you could always use a WYSIWYG editor ( here's a link to some freebie ones), or check out Dreamweaver (not free though).

WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get, these programs let you set up website pages and then preview them in your browser.
Is that sort of what you're meaning?

yes!! thank you
can i save what i make for when i actually do have a website?

sure, you can save the page files you make as actual html files, (WYSIWYG editors generally create the html coding as you create a layout in them) so when you do set up a live website, you can just upload the html files to your server and viola - a website!

i am mentally challenged i think when it comes to this stuff. i downloaded kompozer but cant seem to get past opening it. i don't see any of the things that the tut says i should. :(

I use website tonight through GoDaddy.com. You can design and play around as much as you want and only publish it when you are ready to.
