After my coffee soap disaster last week (havent rebatched, yet) I moved on to this goat milk soap: oatmeal and honey with jasmine EO. I had some acceleration I did not know EO's did that. Its plain, smells nice, overall Im happy with it. Hoping it will help my dry winter skin in the months ahead!

They look gorgeous :)

If you don't mind me asking, can I ask where you got your Jasmine absolute from? I've never soaped with it becaue it's so expensive, so I didn't know it accelerates. Good to know.

I kept the bottle because the little booger caused me trouble. I bought it along with other EOs (in the same section) at my local health food store. Ive just reread the lable. In bold print company name now essential oils jasmine ingredients: jasmine with other fragrances !!! I dont know how I missed that. Im afraid this isnt what your looking for  Seems a bit missleading to sell a fragrance oil like that and yeah it was pricy . ooohhh well lesson learned

Oh no! That is very misleading and unfortunately very common in the selling of essential oils & absolutes. :(
I just looked up the company of those eo's and found the description for the Jasmine Essential Oil that they sell:

"100% Natural Jasmine Absolute Oil from NOW; contains the essential oil Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum) prediluted in a natural base of Grape Seed Oil. We use Grape Seed Oil because it is a light, natural oil with no noticeable odor that can be used on all skin types. Jasmine is one of the most revered of all fragrances, and has been used in the perfume industry for centuries."

The 100% in the beginning is very misleading in my opinion. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my money on any more of those. Because since it's already been diluted, it could be just one drop of EO to 1 oz of carrrier oil.

Your soap still looks beautiful though & if you want some links to reputable EO suppliers just ask. You will find that absolutes, like Jasmine, are going to be very expensive ($150 to $200 per oz).

Nice-looking soap. Congrats.
thank you Sue, lovely name by the way.

Genny, I would appreciate any links you would like to share. Your right Im not planing on buying there again. Since the "fragrance" I used was diluted I have no way of knowing strenght, (in the bottle or in my soap) is there a chance it will disapper from my soap?

Thank you all for the encourgment! and thanks Genny for the links, they were great. it was the oats and honey that turned my soap brown. I have been able to make some nice off white goat milk soaps. its when I start adding colors an fragrances that everything goes wonky. its trial and error, and Ive got alot to learn!

$200 per oz. of Jasmine??? Sweet mary!!!! That is one pricey bar of soap. Kind of like coffee oil from WSP. Glad it turned out though.

lol. yes it would be! I didnt spend $200. I spent $8 an oz. for some weird rip-off version. I'm sad its going to fade out. the floral went really well the oats and honey. Does anyone have any opinons about a good jasmine FO ?

I can't make a recommendation for a jasmine FO because I hate the smell of it. Yes, I'm one of those weird people who despise jasmine. However, I did use WSP's EO/FO blend Euphoria which a couple of friends and my mother think smells wonderful. I didn't care for it at first. I had a small amount left and I put it in a facial soap batch because I had read rose absolute and jasmine oil was good for the skin. It is extremely strong smelling and I could barely stand it. However, it mellowed out in the soap and I came to like it. The scent lasted for a long time and I didn't notice any fading until almost a year later. Even with the slight fading, it still had a noticeable scent. So, it holds up well in CP and might last even longer in HP. Personally, I noticed the rose more than the other scents in it so this may not be a helpful post for you.

I know I complain about WSP's prices but this blend is very reasonably priced considering all the EOs which are used in it. This is one item I will still buy from them. If you decide you want to try this, you'd have to experiment with what percentage you'd want to use for it. I learned my lesson and I'd use it at .5 oz ppo if even that much. I might try an even lower amount.

Thank you hazel, it looks like a nice combo, and the price isnt bad. its the min order + all the gripes about slow processing that has stopped me from ordering from them. The jasmine was tuff to take at first, I spent 3 weeks sniffing the bottle before I soaped with it. and at a low rate .5 per pound, I like it best as a backround scent. otherwise I would find it overwhelming. I was considering combining a floral type with a oat -n- honey or milk -n- honey FO the next time.

Those are annoying. I admit I rarely order from them anymore. I have to wait until I need several items before I order which I think occurs once a year.

AHRE has a nice jasmine FO.

And I like your soap very much. It's very rustic and creamy looking. Congratulations!
