Hi there, I've been lurking around here for awhile and have been HP soaping for about 8-10 years now. I've done some sales at small Farmers Markets over the years and personal sales. But now I have a big dream that I'm determined to fulfill at 55 years old. Big to me but small to others I guess. I just got laid off from a job I loved and my husband just got on permanant dissability. That leaves us 913.00 to live on. And to top it off, my unemployment was denied! So, with our retro money we bought lots of soap, lotion, and incense supplies. We also bought a small used Camper RV just in case we are ever homeless...sad to have to worry about that.

We decided and have been thinking about this for a couple of years to do the craft show, swapmeet, farmers market circuit. So, I know there's alot involved. I know I need insurance, right? But where do I find some? I have also found a web site to join, that gives me the info for craft shows all over. But my biggest problem is packaging and lableing my stuff. That's scary, since I'm not the greatest with computers to do it myself...but I have to. Labels seem so expensive to have them all made for me. Packaging, espacially labels are really a biggy and I'm desperate to learn how. Any ideas? Or is there a cheap place that will help?

Sorry this message is so long but I just wanted to give you all a little info since I'll be hanging out here. Blessings to you all, Mamabird

Hi Mammabird,

Welcome to the Forum. :)

Sorry to hear about your job loss. It's good to have a plan in place.

If you do a search under packaging and labeling you'll find loads of info and pictures. There have been some threads just recently that should help you.

Glad that you're aboard. :)

You could probably go to etsy.com & post a custom request in the alchemy area of the website & take bids o someone to design our labels for you. I bet you could get a couple labels * a logo for abaout $30.00. Have them do it in aprogram you can manipulate so you can make minor changes like the scent names.

Welcome.
