I really think there needs to be a rebatch sticky.... I know there are lots of tutorials out there, but everyone has a different opinion of course!

I have 6 lbs of shredded WSP beach scented soap. Going to melt down & my biggest concern is the pouring. I love using plastic drawers from the clear 3 drawer organizers, but I am worried it will be to hot and the drawer. PVC can with stand the heat. However, will a gloppy soap go into a pvc mold? Plus with my PVC mold the batch can be any size & fit the mold.
I have never rebatched, but almost all tutorial show a gloppy mess. Am I over thinking this?
Also on the fragrance, if the beach scent disappears I picked out a complementing scent to add. Should I expect the original scent to disappear?
Any thoughts or help would be great!!!!

I have done HP and CP in PVC so the heat should be no problem. Just make sure you line the mold with freezer paper so it comes out easier. You should also cap one end so you are able to bang the mold on a flat surface to release air pockets.

Thanks, just I was just worried it would be a mess trying to get it in the mold. I will make sure we bang it well several times.

I bang the mold after each glop of soap into it and then quite a bit after all the soap is in the mold..good luck :)

I got the soap all in the PVC without to much drama. I probably lost a bar due to bad aim on my part. When I rebatched at one point I had everything almost 100% melted smooth but I was being eager, thinking I could get the soap all the way smooth. When I went back for the next stir it had started to dry out & clump up. Tried adding some water, but saw bubbles. So chickened out then spooned the gloopy soap into the molds.
May rebatch it again if it is ugly. It was so close to being an amazing texture & practice makes perfect right???

I use a canning jar funnel when I fill my PVC pipes. It gives a bit more room to pour and the bottom part is plenty big. I also have a dowel that I push up and down in my pipe to help get rid of air bubbles. Just a couple of tips.

I told DD my canning funnel sure would be handy right now. She assured me I was wrong since the soap wasn't as smooth as normal , of course I believed her since teenagers know everything.
