100% Coconut Oil Soap / cleaned my sink :-)

Hi All,
This is my first post on the CP Soap forum..besides my intro ... I do HP in the Crockpot.

Anyway...In one of my experimental batches I did 100% Coconut Oil soap just to see what it would be like. It came out really hard, really white..and really bubbly . Great for cleaning greasy man hands after working...( I didn't make it to sell.....just made it for us)

Also, since I like to be frugal...and make as much cleaning stuff as I can myself. I found it is great for cleaning my sink and tub. I just get a wash cloth lathered up really good...and wash everything down. It took the soap scum right off of my sink, and shined up my faucet. I just rinsed afterward and dried it off.

I could not believe how easy the soap scum came off my sink. My hubby has been working in the garden and always has dirty hands and leaves the sink dirty. BUT this cleaned it really good with ease.

Yes, coconut is VERY cleansing. What level of superfat did you use and do you have pics?

Coconut is a great for all purpose cleaning . I bought some Green Works window cleaner and it is coconut based too . It works very well.

5% Superfat

I did 5% Super fat ...I just ran it thru soapcalc .

I thought it would probably be pretty cleansing, but wasn't expecting it to make my sink shine... lol.

I only did a 2 lb batch to see how it would do...but I think I will make up more this week.

My next experiment might be to infuse my water with LIPTON Cranberry Pomegranate Green Tea . And add the ground up tea at the end. And make a green tea soap.

Do you think that will work ?

Oh..meant to say...... The tea infusion will not be on 100% Coconut Soap,

Maybe a good recipe with some olive oil, tallow , coconut oil... I have some other oils here I might try and work in...

Any suggestions ?

Sure it will work. I made a rasberry green tea soap that way.

I hope it works well for you also. It cleaned mine as good as the scrubbing bubbles. You do have to wet the area well...and get your rag good and wet and bubbled up , use a little elbow grease but not much, then rinse and dry. I was pleasantly surprised.

Sounds great. I am in the mood for making my own cleaning products! Maybe I could put something in to scour away stubborn tea stains.

HMMMM... just realized that my coconut bar is also a salt bar. I used plain ole' table salt. I wonder if that will scratch my tub? :?

I have not made salt bars before so I don't know what they are like.
I shined up my kitchen stove tonight with it......LOL, I was bubbling all over the kitchen.

My mom had told me she used it to clean the greasy splatter on the back of her stove where the knobs are........so I tried it...my stove looks great...I ended up giving the whole stove top a good bubble and wipe. lol
