Hey im from the UK and i have heard i can make soap using Caustic-Soda but it is very leathel stuff so gloves, goggles, vest, gown is advised. how true is this and any good methods of making soap this way ? i wanna learn this as well it seems fun and still very beautiful

Hey Irishlass :), i thought M&P would be best at first but i have decided to go with CP to get started :).i wanna start from scratch instead of buying basses :) Thank you Irishlass for being so kind :) also Finding Lye or sodium hydroxide is hard in the UK how much will i need to start with ?

so if i did a melt and pour soap i would need that base but if i did cold soap making then i can make soap from scratch ? :)

i see bases for sale online and i was wondering do you need to buy the bases to get into soap making or not ?

i would love to get started and was wondering if anyone could tell me what i will need to get started, what items and soap base. i wanna give Melt and pour a try since its apprently the easiest :) also are any 2 soaps ever the same from 2 diffrent people ? :D
