Thought I had conquered DOS... it's back! At a loss :(

Thanks for your input on BB lavender. I do love many of the BB fo's but recently have tried many from Candle Science and been very happy with them. My go to lavender fo is now their White Sage and Lavender .

    Tussah silk

I used to add tussah silk all the time (purchased from BB) and decided it was an extra step that was kind of a pain and really didn't make any difference to the finished bar. I find I get that same "silky" feeling adding a little avocado oil and mango butter to my oil mix. It's not expensive...

Thought I had conquered DOS... it's back! At a loss :(

Thought I had conquered DOS... it's back! At a loss :(

I am an experienced soaper and sell a lot at our local farmers market. After doing this for 10 years I am CONVINCED that the few times I have gotten dos it is from the fragrance oil. Coffee Fragrance Oil

Ditto BB espresso - I use it in a scrubby hand soap with some pumice powder and dried grounds. Scent really sticks and stays true

    Gunpowder FO

I've been soaping/selling cold process soap for about 8 years always ordering from BB, WS, NG. I recently started trying Candle Science and have been really happy with most of their FO's. I think they give good info about their soap testing and reviews seem honest. I think many overlook them...

    Dos from FO's

The biggest culprit was Champagne, also Tobacco and Bay Leaf and Lavender FO. Even tho the spots weren't horrible the champagne got that "box of crayons" smell. It surprised me too because it was 2 years in a row and I had ordered new stuff each time. I don't think it would have been a mixing...

    Dos from FO's

Has anyone gotten DOS (minimal) that has to be from a fragrance oil? This has happened several times with a couple of FO's from Brambleberry. It's the only explanation as all my oils were fresh and I maded different fragrances from the same batch and it only happened to the BB ones. Also I...
