    Hello from the Netherlands

I am about to discover that and I will tell you as soon as I can. Not really. I feel like I'm illegal, guilty and start blabbering 'I did it!' to everything that I read or see on the news.

    Hello from the Netherlands

Hi Amy, I'm from Italy and I too make my soap and just like @Luriertjie I can confirm that any handcraft soap at least in Italy is equated to a cosmetic product therefore needs to be tested in lab and registered according to the Reg. UE n° 1223/2009 as Product information file registry. All the...

    Olive Oil Pomace vs EVOO

I too use EVOO in all my oils because I am an olive oil producer in Italy and find that olive oil bars tend to get a lot harder (and bubblier) with long cure. The yellowish colour tends to fade over time. Meaning months and years. I have some bars of EVOO soap made up to 5 years ago or more...

Adding silk at .11 per cent of the weight of the batch of soap

Linne, another question while we are on it. I was told that you can't ever heat up your lye solution to bring it back to mixing temperature with the oils. I suppose that is the case of masterbatching: if I don't use up all the masterbatch in one go and my solution cools down, I cannot keep it...

Linne, Yes! I finally learned what masterbatch means, too" (I'm Italian). Makes perfect sense. Thank you so much,

Adding silk at .11 per cent of the weight of the batch of soap

Hello Linne1gi, I was reading about the properties that silk adds to the soap in this forum and stumbled upon yours. I am fairly new in this forum and always made soaps using a soap calc, deciding my lye concentration and followed the sap values of each oil included in my recipe accordingly. I...
