ya, this is really addictive indeed....i've like 30 bars sitting on my "curing rack" in less than a month lol :lol: I tried sth like youre recipe and i just loved it, i added some oatmeal for it light exfoliate effect and i'll say they're perfect match ~~

I grated some of my old soap into the modified batch, and it worked perfectly with heating pads as suggested~ and those leaving for longer cure, i left them under air con and they harden up quite nicely too. Thanks again carebear~ :D

Thanks you Carebear and Soapsmurf~ I've decided to have half batch waited for another month or so, and have the other half added to a slightly modified recipe and bigger batch 600g batch 30% grated soap jojoba 5% OO 25% CO 30% PO 40% lye discount 3% addictive 3% any comments?

I made the batch on Jun 13th and this is the recipe i used: 36g jojoba 124g olive oil 160g palm oil 80g coconut oil green bean powder 20g tea tree EO ~6ml NaOH 53.65g water 132g coloring i tried the soap, it first left an oily feeling, but then the oily feeling was gone after...

I haven't tried the lather yet but I'll check it out tonite~ I actually cut down the jojoba to 9% as suggested by soapsmurf and ran the recipe on soap cal, the numbers looked fine... I duno what's the real reason causing the failure as there were too many "first times" in this batch...

I tried the recipe last week and the soap turned out to be too soft even after 5 days of cure...I duno if it's the oil combination (too much "soft oil" in the recipe) or becasue i spilled some soap when I was trying to use my new stick blender.... or because of the 6ml of tea tree EO I added...

soapcal provides these 3 numbers and apparently they're all referring to the "hardness" of soap.... I was just wondering what's the different between these 3 numbers and how should i read these numbers? :?

wow I didn't know that! I was hoping that if i use espresso as liquid it would give my soap a little bit of scent at least... alrite, it's time for me to get a coffee FO then~~ :)

Ya i never experienced a real trace neither but I found hand whisking for about 15-20 mins nonstop until the solution looks emulsified work out just fine....but this won't work out nicely if u want to do swirl... I just got a stick blender as I'm planning to try doing swirl....it's just too...
