    Syndet shampoo bars

I make a basic shampoo bar usin SCI noodles, in which I grind up and use in my recipe. Ok, in order to “save“ a step I purchased powered SCI, I made my usual recipe and boy it was not even close, the dry vs wet was way off, way to dry, it wasn’t even close. Is there a way to convert the powder...

    Syndet shampoo bars crumble

Hello all, I’ve just recently started making Syndet shampoo bars. It’s been a real learning experience to say the least. I’ve been getting good feedback from those that I’ve given them out to. One common issue I’ve been getting is that at a certain point they tend to “crumble” I’d like to...

Fragrance/Essential oils in Syndet shampoo bars

I do not melt those ingredients, I simply have “dry” ingredients and “wet” ingredient. Wet ingredients does include CAP B as well. My SLSa is in noodle form, I put that in my grinder for a slightly less coarse texture, for me this works well. However I am open to melting those together I’m just...

Fragrance/Essential oils in Syndet shampoo bars

Thanks for the reply. I am going to use peppermint next, I really like the idea of mixing with herbals, I will experiment with that. It seems to dissipate more with essential oils more than fragrance oils. I’m still going to formulate sample batches until I figure this out!

Fragrance/Essential oils in Syndet shampoo bars

Hello everyone, I just recently started making a sulphate free shampoo bar. I’ve used SCI, SLSa, rice flour, rice protein, camellia oil, vitamin E, preservative. My issue is adding the essential or fragrance oils, the fragrances seem to dissipate to almost nothing. Is there something I should...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Ok, these are very cool to say the least. When you use your mica, is it in dry form, just sprinkle some on the dough, then slightly work in? Or is it in a wet form, sprinkled in the dough, slightly working it in? Thanks for any insight. I believe this is the ”thing” that I’m missing!! Well done.

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I too just started making Syndet shampoo bars. I’ve been struggling with adding colorants. I have used water soluble dyes, Or I’ve just left them plain with no colorants at all leaving them a stark white. Does anyone have any suggestions on adding colorants to these products?

Thanks for the feedback! Should I adjust my recipe? Like backoff on the olive oil and slightly increase the coconut oil? Thanks.
