@ackosel it can't be DOS as that takes weeks to develop. Since the soap is (unintentionally) unfragranced, it's more likely that some ingredient reacted with the lye solution to create the color dots, or the pouring and swirling pulled over some other colors into the white. Colors often change...

How large was your batch of soap? Unless it was 5lbs or so, and had lots of water and slow-tracing oils that were under 100F, you blended way too much. By way of comparison, I can only do three 1-second blasts of stick-blending with my 1000g batches, or I’m at thick trace almost immediately.

@Nanna ugh, so sorry. 😢 Those darn flowery EOs smell so good but are the worst for acceleration. Combining them with the thickening power of clays will create a speed challenge, for sure! To offset the floral EOs, you could try using @KiwiMoose’s trick of adding in some citrus EO to slow it...

Neither sugar nor SL cause acceleration, thankfully. I would add the colloidal oats either to some of your additional liquid, or blend it dry into the oils before adding the lye solution. I don't think any healing properties of AVJ come through saponification, but it does create nice bubbles...

I have dry, thick, coarse, low-porosity, curly/wavy and sometimes frizzy hair that is probably 50% grey at this point. I've used hydrolized silk, oat, and rice proteins in my shampoo bar. They all felt the same to me, and there wasn't any objectionable smell from any of them, even in unscented bars.

I guess I had forgotten about reading that thread back in 2022. So glad that NG is still operating separately, at least for now.

I would skip them, too, but due to similarities of containers and product color, I have previously tried to wash my face with lotion, and moisturize my legs with face wash. ;)
