    liquid laundry soap with KOH?

OK; I did some laundry with the liquid coconut KOH soap and it seems to do a fine job of washing. It also does a great job washing dishes. By the way, I added lemon essential oil due to its grease-cutting properties. However, when I squeeze the liquid soap onto a sponge I get lots of...

Ut Oh, Crust on top of my liquid soap!

Well, mine was 100% coconut oil (made for dishwashing/laundry soap), with zero super-fat, and was nice and thick. I did use the borax neutralizer, which contained 6 oz. boiling water, and that helps to thicken. I diluted the paste (made from 40 oz. coconut oil) with 40 oz. boiling water.

    liquid laundry soap with KOH?

I just made liquid soap using 100% coconut oil and KOH. My aim was to make bubbly dishwashing liquid and perhaps laundry soap as well out of it. I had 40 oz. of coconut oil to work with, so I went to soapcalc.com to find the amounts of water and KOH and plugged in zero super-fat. My last batch...

Ut Oh, Crust on top of my liquid soap!

I've made liquid soap only twice, but both times I've had to skim a crust off the top. However, once that is gone, if you keep a top in the soap, no more crust will form. At least that's been my experience. Also, I read that to keep a thick layer of foam from forming on the top, spritz it with a...

    Liquid Soap Supplies

Thanks for the reply, Bruce. Today I got on eBay to order some and, lo and behold, it's location was in my town. What's more, my husband, who's a VW Vanagon and Westie camper nut and makes the fuel, had been trying to find them. Their company is called Dudadiesel and they sell both the sodium...

    Liquid Soap Supplies

Hi, people. I'm a newbie at soap-making. I've made several batches of different bar soaps, CP and HP, and I've made laundry detergent. I've made liquid hand soap, but only the SODIUM hydroxide way, which makes a sort of "un-uniform" gloppy liquid. I'd like to try my hand at real liquid soap, but...

Hard White Bar Without Lard or Tallow?

In my first couple of batches I used lard, coconut, and soy bean oil. About a month after making them, I think the soap has a faint "dough" smell; I don't really know any other way to describe it. I've used essential oils in every batch. The lard I've used is purchased in a one pound carton from...

    Hi from Alabama

Hi, Val. I'm new, too, and I'm also from Alabama! I made my first batch of soap about a month ago and have since made several batches with enough success to inspire me to continue. In fact, I'm becoming quite passionate about it. So far I've been able to find all my ingredients locally...
