    Hi Zany_in_CO, Thanks alot for the tip on how to try out freshly made soap earlier.. I have been experimenting with different ratios of coconut oil in my soaps, but they always dry out my facial skin. Im thinking of the pH also dries me out.. So for the recommendations of other members here...

    Hi WeaversPort, thank you for your reply! :) I sliced it up this morning, its not too hard or soft either, just perfect. The only bad thing in soap making is the waiting time, cannot wait to use it... :):) Will definetly let you know how my skin behaves after using it. :)

    Hi everyone, This morning I made a new 500g batch of soap without coconut oil as some of the members suggested as my previous recipe which was a tweak of Genny's shampoo bar was drying for my face after 6 weeks of curing.. These oils were on hand and calculated with the soap calculator. :)...

    Hi IrishLass, Yes It was a tweak of Genny's shampoo bar recipe :) Yes, I kept everything the same except the olive oil, I used sunflower oil. I feel some hope here now that maybe I could still use soap on my face some day without it causing me dryness. I will be leaving coconut oil out...

    Hi lenarenee, Thank you for answer. I give it another go with less coconut oil or no coconut at all. But how will it be cleansing with no coconut oil? - sorry for the silly question... Have a great time with your baby - hiking is so much fun! :)

    Hi everyone, I made the popular shampoo bar for my face with 6% superfat. I did use a soap calculator. When I wash my face with it, I cannot feel any oil leftover that could moisturise my skin... Should I try 7% superfat or give up washing my face with soap...:(:(:( I'd really love to use it...

    Hi cherrycoke216, Yes, it maybe the clays & coconut oil %... you are right. Plus theres no superfat in it either.. Sorry I posted my question here, i just registered here yesterday & was soo excited to get an answer why my soap is drying, i didnt realize it.. Next time I will open a new thread...

    Yes Millie I believe a longer curing time helps aswell! I always cure the soaps for 6 weeks but will try it maybe 8 weeks next time. ☺

    Thank you Millie! I try to use no clays or just very minimal amount & maybe keep the superfat around 5-6. I have sensitive oily skin, but it might be the pH that causing this effect on my face. I will try to use a different recipe with superfat & different ingredients & see how my skin...
