    Thanks Susie. I think I got confused. (English is my second language:-( It's cooking after paste stage. I have been cooking for 3 hours or more. Using double boiler and gas is expensive in my country... So I just want to know is there a method where there is no cooking or little cooking..

    Why does handmade lotion feel dry.?

    Hi friends, Am still a newbie in lotion making, I have made 3-4batches of lotion. My skin feels dry after an hour or so of applying my lotion. My recipe is quite basic Water, oils, small%of butter, ewax, preservative. What more should I add? Will adding glycerin or sodium lactate help??

    Hello The other day I got a mask from a soap maker locally. The ingredients were kaolin clay, zinc oxide and glycerin. She said there is no preservatives in the mask and mask shelf life is 6 months if kept in refrigerator. Is it possible.? Should I use it for 6months or throw it of after...

    Hi. Made my first emulsified sugar scrub. It turned out runny. My recipe 10% ewax 10% stearic acid 10% cocoa butter 68% sunflower oil 1% eo 1% preservative. Added150 g sugar. It is sort of runny. I live in a tropical climate. I really don't want to sound dumb but could the climate be the reason...

    i use vegetable oils only.. so no lard.. and i too read palm speed up,,, aftr mixing the oils and lye solution, if it hardens fast can i warm it a bit... i think i read tht somewhr .

    palm 40%, coconut 20%, rice bran 20%, sunflower 10% and castor 10%. sf at 7%. full water thts 38%... ya i too heard qlive oils slows down the trace... also read soybean oil tooo slows down.. but nvr tried.. i love hard bars so felt 60% hard oils might do good... ya i do get hard bar but i ve nvr...

    well my soaps traces quick very quick.. let me gv more details... i soap at room temp. i usually dont use olive oil... the oils are palm, coconut, castor, sunflower and rice bran.. hard : soft oils ratio s 60: 40 i end up nt using stick blender still it trace soon.. and i usually make one...
