burned hot process soap I saw on Youtube a soaper use a lidded boiler in the oven put on 170degrees F. to cook their HP soap. I would give that a try. I recall he didn't stir his batch at all nor lift the lid . check out youtube. Oven process. goodluck.

I use cornflour as well as high percentage of lard to add that richness to my soap. Lard is lushness in soap.

Lard is the winning ingredient for me providing the most rich and luxurious soap. Try a small batch 100% lard at 7% superfat and use some essential oil and you shall IMHO love the results. HUgs Liz

Just wondering about the use of milk in the rebatching in HP. There would be no free active lye left in a week plus old soap would there. I read that during the saponification process the milk usually converts to sodium lactate. So really this process won't happen in this rebatch but the milk...

Hi I made some beer soap a few nights ago. I remembered to make the beer flat but forgot to heat it up to evaporate off the alcohol. I did HP the beer though and was wondering if the soap will be OK. what does the presence of alcohol do to CP soap if I used that method?

I would be inclined to have the customer bring back the soap and suds it up in front of her to test it out with normal water and lighting. That will narrow the issue down a little. Hmm love a good mystery.

I would be inclined to cut the loaf in half and redo the top on one half. You will just have a multi coloured bed of colour separating the piped soap from the main loaf. That would work. Nothing to lose and it might look fab. good luck. Hugs Liz

Bore water is water pumped up from the water table underground. Usually a very long pipe is drilled into the soil until it reaches the water table. It is not treated at all and can be hard such as I have. No chemical additives at all. I have only used this water so far as well as the goats milk...

Wondering if others use bore water or stick to well or distilled water.I have been using bore water and wonder am I going to benefit at all by changing to distilled. Thanks Liz:think:

Thanks soooo much for the feedback and advice. I did discount the milk and maybe that was an issue too. I popped the loaf in the fridge and kept it cool so I don't think it overheated as it didn't gel. I should have been able to recheck my lye BUT :( well another newbie lesson learnt here...
