    Using Crisco

Zen Soaps did the single oil swap back in 2003. In 2007, Crisco developed a new formula, it's completely different now.

    water reduction and cure times

P.S. When some people complain about soap being slimy - it's always about castile/bastile. I've never heard complains about 100% CO soap being slimy. Doesn't it have anything to do with the soaps solubility?

    water reduction and cure times

Thank you for the answer DeeAnna. From my experience soaps made from soft oils get mushy faster than any other soap. Right now I am using an experimental bar made with 100% canola oil. For the recipe I used the same amount of water I usually use (33% lye solution) and cured it for 4 weeks. It...

    water reduction and cure times

DeeAnna, then why does a soap made with just soft liquid oils get more mushy in the soap dish, than a CO or PKO bar does?

Envious, jealous & (a little) frustrated.

Has anybody tried using more than 1 tablespoon of sugar ppo? Would it increase lather even more? :D Would it make soap softer?

Coconut Oil vs Palm Kernel Oil

I use both but mostly coconut oil, because it is more easily accessible. I also find that even if their numbers are comparable coconut oil gives bigger bubbles.

    Superfatting

    I mostly SF at 8%.

Palm oil or Palm kernel oil?

Palm Kernel is not a substitute for Palm oil, their fatty acid profiles are very different. Palm kernel is a substitute for coconut (or can be used in conjunction with) because it is high in lauric fatty acid which gives great bubbly lather. Palm is high in palmitic and stearic acids which...

    The Scent Works worth it?

You might want to take a look at these TSW's FOs: Mandarin Coriander (4 Oz.) $9.50, a very nice citrusy-green scent, behaves beautifully in CP, sticks forever. One of my favorites. Yuzu Japanese Grapefruit (4 Oz.) $9.75, a bright, uplifting scent, no A or D. Blackberry Basil (4 Oz.)...

    The Scent Works worth it?

If you choose USPS Priority Mail or Parcel Post, it will cost you less for shipping.

    The Scent Works worth it?

Full Moon is great, strong and very long-lasting. In CP, .5 oz or .6 oz per lb. is more than enough. With some less expensive FOs you might need to use twice this amount.
