    I'm curious, what is the chemistry behind this reaction? Why would adding more water to the cooled lye solution heat it up again?

    I cure them for at least 8 weeks before use. Age does wonders for salt bars. Maybe wait a while and try again.

    Need recommendation for Purple color for CP

    WSP blue 1 lake (Crafters Choice Bath Bomb Blue Powder Color), 2 mini-scoops like this mixed in 200 gr of oil. For the white swirl I used some Satin Pearl mica. P.S. This is CP soap - in HP it stays blue.

    Susie, DeeAnna, wouldn't the addition of sodium lactate to a potassium soap produce the sodium soap and potassium lactate? :?: I'm not sure but I think that sodium ions (Na+), regardless of whether they come from table salt, or SL, or NaOH, will replace the potassium ions (K+), at least...

    Poll: What is your maximum percentage of coconut in a batch?

    I usually use CO plus PKO for a total of 30% bubbly oils. I superfat at 8-10%. I've never had anyone say that my soap was drying.
