    *#$!ing Partial Gel

I made this pumpkin soap for a fall festival. I used real pumpkin and should have kept it in the oven to acheive full gel, but not thinking I tried to stop it from gelling. So now I am stuck with 18 bars of pumpkin pie scented partial gel soap.. UGHHHHHH Note to self, any soap with milk or...

What would you do with this soap?

Thanks for the input, and the compliments on my soap. I am giving it to friends and family, but warning them about the gray suds. It rinses off of my white washclothes, so I think it will be fine with the warning as you suggest.

What would you do with this soap?

I made this soap with some rock hound friends in mind. I called it fire agate. Unfortunately I used black oxide for color, and the lather is gray. I have used it in the bath and it didn't color the tub and rinsed off fine. Right now it is my kitchen soap, because I don't know what else to us it...

They both look great. The horny toad is amazing. I went to a drive through zoo in your area years ago. Is that near you?

does everyone have ash, or is it just me?

Yes I have ash whether I gel or not. I do think that spraying with alcohol helps, because I do it every time and I don't have ash very often. I also keep my soap in a cool basement in a dry Rocky Mountain climate, so I don't know if that makes a difference. Good luck.

I need scents that are sttributed to Scotland and Ireland

Thanks, a lot. There are some great ideas in here. We are hoping that this festival continues to grow, so maybe I can make all of these over the next few years. This is only the second year. http://www.bitterrootscottishirishfestival.org/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHPx7Z0liFE

I need scents that are sttributed to Scotland and Ireland

Good point Care bear. I think that I will stick with the lavendar I already make, and just make a new packeg labeled Irish lavendar, my oatmeal stout and one new soap that I will try for this occasion. I can try the others during the winter with next summers festival in mind. I am thinking of...

What is the best vanilla color stabilizer for CP?

People always ask me for vanilla soap, but I try to steer clear of anything containing vanilla, because of the brown discoloration. Can anyone recommend a product to help with this?

I need scents that are sttributed to Scotland and Ireland

I have a booth at an Irish and Scottish (is that correct, I always thought that it should be Scotch) festival. It is in 6 weeks and I thought that it would be fun to include some scents that bring those countries to mind. So far I am thinking Wild Irish Rose, Irish Lavendar, and I found a 4 Leaf...

Anybody else have trouble connecting with SoapCalc today??

Did you happen to upgrade to the newest version of Internet Explorer lately? Ever since my husband did, I can not get into Soapcalc using it. If I use Mozilla I can get into it fine. I think that there is a compatibility problem with soap calc and the new IE.

does everyone have ash, or is it just me?

I get ash sometimes. I actually have had it more in my gelled soaps. i use my tap water for my soap as I have really good rockie mountain spring water via my well. I thought that maybe there was a metal in my water, so I used distilled water and got ash anyway. I went back to my tap water. I do...

    Funnel swirl help

I want to try a funnel swirl. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I know a funnel in the middle of the loaf mold, then what, alternate colors or pour them together? How thick should the soap be? My first try I alternated colors, and the soap was too thick, I ended up glopping (if this isn't...

Molds my husband made for me

The liner is made of silicone rubber. We buy it, mix it, and pour it into a form we made, the inside comes out really smooth and I am working on making the outside smoother, but the outside of the liner being lumpy doesn't affect my soap He said if he sold them, he would have to ask $90.

Molds my husband made for me

My husband made me 2 of these. I love them. I have tested them out in the oven and the freezer, and they are fine. I get 19 -1 inch bars out of them, if I am really good at my cutting, usually I get 18 nice 1 inch bars and 1 skinny bar. I told him that he should sell them...
