    Gelling in the oven?

your slogan I love the "You can't cure stupid" saying. It has a different meaning when you think of it with your soaps. I am going to say that to myself when ever a batch doesn't turn out as I had in mind.

    Sunflower oil

Has anyone used it, and how did you like it? I have a local supplier that I can get organic oils from, and they have this on sale for $22.10 a gallon, plus I can pick it up and avoid shipping charges. What do you think?

    Gelling in the oven?

first time using the oven I have had 2 batches of partial gel soap, and one with major soap dust. I am cutting them into small bars to give out to freinds and coworkers. I am on a campaign against partial gel and dust. So I wanted to make my first almost castile soap today. I turned my oven to...

Are you ready to sell your soap?

I have been making soap for about 5 months and I am just starting to consider selling some of it, at local crafts fairs, mostly to help pay for supplies to make more soap. It is a great creative hobby, I am so glad I found it. I have had a...

    INS

I read that for good soap the INS should be between 135 and 165. When I check a lot of soap recipes they are way out of that range, for example any true castile soap comes in at 105. What is the real story?

How many of us have dogs as our avatar?

I notice a lot of dog avatars. I am just starting to research making dog soap and I ordered a puppy breath FO last week. We currently have 3 dogs and are on someone's puppy list for a litter this spring. Dog obsessed I guess. I do worry that there is dog hair in my soap sometimes though.

Checked my soap It looks great and smells great. I am unmolding it on Friday, my next day off. It is so fun to see how, that fumy, smelly concoction turns into something completely different and good smelling.

    Looking for Puppy Breath FO

Sort of kidding, but I belong to a national dog breed club and they are always saying that they wish that Yankee Candle made a puppy breath scent. I plan to make dog soap bars at some point and thought it would be funny if I could find this.

Hi I just started making soap in October. After a few melt and pour recipes, I started making cold process soap. It was just what I was looking for. I have been making lots of small batches to experiment with recipes and learn. I made my 7th batch today. I used up the last of my coconut oil and...
