Well i finally made the soap and cut it tonight. It turned out super soft and creamy. But this is of course not a true sake, it is Kikkoman's Manjo Aji-Mirin sweet cooking rice seasoning. I would like to try true sake next.....

with olive oil soaps i soap just under 110 degrees. But you have a very high percentage of olive oil in your recipe. I seldom do over 35%. maybe that is your issue.

I agree, ingredients, amounts, and what temperature you soaped at are needed. All big factors :)

Even though i cannot (and Don't) sell my soap with medicinal intent, that is what inspires me. There are many people who have come to me with skin and pain issues, and the soaps and oils i make have helped them alot. Helping people, is what inspires me.

Ok Hazel, one more question. the Kikkoman's Manjo Aji-Mirin sweet cooking rice seasoning is 8% alcohol, should i let it sit out and go flat like i read about everyone else doing with their alcohol based liquids? or can i just use it straight out of the bottle? thanks again hazel.

:) Japanese Rice Wine. It is supposed to have great anti-aging values when used in soaps. I cant wait to try it.

hhhmmmm, interesting idea. I would be interested to see what anyone else says. If it can be used in soap, i wonder if it is any different than using any other animal tallow?

usplastics.com is more of an industrial/commercial place, but they do have some nice looking containers that small that we soapers can use.

yes, and i forgot to add that to the recipe above. So what would be the new percentages to you? How do you know what percentages to assign? that is what baffles me. I have never dealt with sugars in soap, how does one do it? once again, thank you Hazel, i am going to start calling you Super...

thank you hazel, i always value your input. I have come across another problem. My mom is the one who put in the request for this soap, and she ordered the rice bran oil and sake and had it shipped to my house. But what she sent wasnt sake, it is Kikkoman's Manjo Aji-Mirin sweet cooking rice...

Might i suggest that you add essential oils to your product for skin issues? there are a ton out there that will add that much more healing power to what you have created. But dont use it on the bar.... the bar tender may not be happy with you :) good job coming to other peoples aid!
