    Work Etiquette

Sounds right up my alley. For one thing, I love Terry Pratchet. I'll get a hold of it and read it at work. Graveyards are so much better than normal shifts.

    I'm off to a nunnery.....

I hum and sing and argue with myself, or my cats whenever I am alone, so said kind of adventure is not really for me but I hope it gives you the healing you need. I want to be a lighthouse keeper, that is my find of solitude.

    Coffee Soap Questions!

I used used grounds rather than fresh ones and found that it is a nice exfoliant, fresh ones might be harsher. I used 1 tsp ppo.

    Soapcalc - low conditioning value

I like to say I could soap with my own oils but the idea is still gross.

    Soapcalc - low conditioning value

I'm with carebear, other than my Castille, all my soaps have min 25-100% coconut oil. They also all have high superfats 10-20%. Coconut and palm do wonders for my cystic acne, not at all drying for me. Then again I do not have dry skin under any circumstances.

    Hemp oil

Thank you both, apparently she has heard wonderful things about it. Since my allergy isn't serious, I didn't want to be a baby but if it can lead to DOS that with my allergy should be enough to persuade her to go along with one of my normal recipes or another oil.

    Hemp oil

Can anyone here tell me if hemp oil smells like hemp? I have a request to make some soap with it but I have an allergy to hemp (yes including the fabric) and scent sensitivity to marijuana and hemp incense. I don't want my house smelling off anything that is going to have me in a migraine for...

    Work Etiquette

My job is classed as temp work by the company but we are required to work 5 days, it wasn't the case when we were hired, thus our contract says differently, but what do you think happens when you lay off half the work force. Okay, half the Anglophone Canadian work force. When software...

I will never forget the sugar or sodum lactate again

Your welcome, happy to help. Edit: I will post photos but the ones I am getting with my camera are just so awful. I'm visiting my parents tomorrow and I'll use their camera, since I have gotten excellent soap pictures from it. That digital slr is looking more and more tempting.

    Silicone in the freezer

I freeze every batch of soap I make, so impatient, and all my mold are silicone. Never had a problem yet. Any silicone mold purchased for baking (and then used for soaping XD) usually comes with information on how hot and how cold it can get before failing, usually it is way below freezing at...

I will never forget the sugar or sodum lactate again

I've never actually made cp but I have read lots of recipes for it so I think it works the same for both types. I do use 1 tab ppo, I've dissolved it in the water before lye, into the lye water and into the hot oils and it has turned out the same each time, keep in mind that this is with...

    You don't have to lie...

I make a few batches a week. Occasionally more than one in a day. The consequence is that I have about 40 bars of soap sitting in my house with nowhere to go.

I will never forget the sugar or sodum lactate again

Sugar and sodium lactate, either or both, make a smoother, more pourable soap batter. The end bar is much more smooth, swirls are easier, all and all it makes every difference in the world to the workabilty of the soap. I compare a batter without salt or sodium lactate and a batter with at...

I will never forget the sugar or sodum lactate again

I'll post pictures tomorrow if I can get decent ones. Dang cheap camera does not take even ok photos in my basement suite. Mind you I do live in a cave, I shouldn't be surprised. Even the texture in use feels different to me, the sugar bar is smoother.

I will never forget the sugar or sodum lactate again

Todays screw up has ultimately proven to me that the use of either sodium lactate or sugar is essential in the handling and colouring and cutting and the end look of my soap. The batch of hot press I made yesterday with sugar, and the batch I made today where I forgot the sugar look distinctly...

    Work Etiquette

It was actually our head body that laid off the workers, of course they shouldn't have, we were so busy, people were pulling double shifts. If anyone wonders why directory operators are cranky, this is why. So I'm honey, wait I hate honey... Hm.

    Work Etiquette

I work for a souless telecommunications company. For the last month few months I have been having some awful issues with my schedule (they laid off 100 people in other provinces) so we were thinly staffed, we had to work triple the hours pretty much and the hours we were getting were completely...

I'm so excited to try my first soap cake, my cathedral bundt mold is in transit so soon....

What size T-shirt are you most likely to buy?

I've long since learnt to alter any shirts I buy. Let's just say that even after surgery "they" still don't fit in anything less that a l-xl.
