    neem soap

To me, neem would be wasted in soap, like most expensive and special oils and additives. Even after the cook, lye is still working and all oils are eaten equally. This is why I leave special additives, my favorite right now is simple rose water, out of soap.

    Frustration

I feel for you. Life, even posting on a forum or playing with a hobby can be so overwhelming. Been dealing with a work issue and I just found out that my work settled, will be paying me back pay and issuing a formal apology so a few weeks of stress and frustration are just suddenly wrapped up...

Gremlins went after my bank account

I live near Surrey so I usually just drive to Voyageur. It's just annoying because I was literally JUST there. I'll probably go on Tuesday anyway as a treat. I'm having a show down with my manager (poison work place stuff) Tuesday morning so I'll probably need a treat.

Gremlins went after my bank account

I got asked to make a big batch of castile soap. Unscented and uncoloured (technically I'm using clay) for my mother's book club. Wouldn't it figure I would knock over my crock pot full of simmering lye/ oil. Now I'm out about 100oz of oliver oil and so am completely out of my brand new bottle...

    Quick EO amount question

The basic rule is .5oz ppo. So you have 2.5 lb of oil so I would save 1.25oz for your recipe would work.

why is my soap so odd looking

Looks like some of my old cphp batches, overcooked. You're going to want to use fo and eo combinations that have high flash points so that you don't have to check the temperature of the mix. You want to pour the soap batter as soon as it isn't zapping so that it doesn't get overcooked or cooled.

Its Fri what's in your soap pot?

Mine's from Peak. I like it quite a bit (even though I don't really like mango). The scent has morphed a little in the cook. The bath bombs smell a little different but I do like the soap. I used FD&C color and got a pale yellow and orange.

Its Fri what's in your soap pot?

I'ved used grapeseed with success. I read so much about DOS relating to it so I haven't used it in a while. On that note I never had DOS with it.

Its Fri what's in your soap pot?

Since tonight is my Monday I just packed up my pot. The first project was soap for the swap (can't say anything about it; it's a secret XD). The second project was a mango salsa scented facial bar made with mango butter as an extra treat. I used a rose mold I love so I'm calling them mango roses.

    facial soap

In that case I would probably suggest trying a basic oil blend first. Right now my favorite facial blend is 40% olive oil, 30% coconut oil, 25% palm oil, and 5% castor oil with a 10% superfat and tsp clay ppo. This blend is a little high on coconut oil for both my mother and sister but it is...

    facial soap

It depends on your skin. Some people need a high cleansing soap, such as me, other people need a less cleansing bar. There are just so many variables.

    Chamomile for acne

I've used different clays and they all worked about the same in my facial soap, keeps the acne at bay for me nicely. That doesn't mean it'll do anything for your friend. Everyone works different. No handmade soap, no soap has ever made a difference to my roommate's acne. The only thing that...

    Chamomile for acne

CB: I have super greasy skin if a soap isn't high in coconut oil, my skin remains like a deep fryer. My fave facial soap right now is olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, and castor oil (in that order of quantity) with clay. I tried using castile for a week earlier in the month, just to see what...

    Chamomile for acne

Coconut oil is high cleansing when used in soap. I don't use it in moiturizers or lotions because then it does clog pores. I have no body or facial acne after having cystic acne for years now that I use my high coconut soap.

    Chamomile for acne

Lye eats EOs. The scent will come through, but anything theraputic properties will be lost during the saponification process. I find the oils used to make the soap are what actually make the difference in an acne bar. For me, a soap high in coconut, up to 100% is best, as well as either salt or...

Can I freeze Oil for storage purposes?

I do my experiment in the kitchen so techincally anyone who would come into the backyard would witness this mad scientist at work. However there are some very high hedges. I am an evil villian with style.

Aw but I just put windows in my evil lair. Hmm... The garage will do. That or the deep freeze.
