I love crisco too ... and soybean shortening... and lard .. makes for a nice creamy bar with tons of bubbles. The bar usually has nice slip as well.

I soap at with 37% and have plenty of time to do swirls (as long as the FO is one that behaves well). I can attest to what Carebear said; my stuff is ready to unmold in less than 8 hours and is hard as a rock. I think it takes less time to cure (not a huge reduction, but cuts of a few days).

Yes, TD does make for a fast trace when you use a lot of it ... lol .. that teamed with SA is how I got my first soap on a stick.

Salt bars gel super super hot ... be careful with using plastic molds. You should be able to unmold and cut after about an hour and a half or so. I've never heard of a salt bar batch not gelling .. the salt makes it gel fast and hot .. as a result I use about 1.2 oz of FO (with a FP above 200)...

Danielito, your recipe is high on oleic acid which creates a rather soft bar to begin with. Perhaps one batch didn't gel, like was mentioned above. There are two things you could do to make it harden faster. First, you could add some stearic. The second thing you can do is soap with a 34%...

Just about any butter, lard, and hydrogenated material (crisco, soy shortening) will give you a creamier lather. Palm oil contributes to creaminess as well.

Last time I made patch scented soap I got a really good EO from LorAnn and used only .5 oz ppo and got a nice medium scent.
