The new soapmaker Version 3. is now out and it's HOT!

Okay, I've got to try this now. We usually run our computer in Linux, so I haven't tried it yet. We do have the capability of running Windows, though, so I think I'm going to have to try it now. Is there still a free trial available?

    New with questions.

I agree - rebatching in your crock pot is really no different that just washing it out with soap, right?

    New with questions.

I don't know about kits - I kind of just gathered stuff from around my kitchen, and picked up whatever else I needed. Oh, and my husband made wooden molds for me, but I know a lot of people use milk cartons, Gladware, etc. So here's my setup for CP: fats/oils, dH20, NaOH, and other soap...

    My second batch

OMG!!! I can't believe that's only your second batch! I've made, man, I dunno, more than a thousand bars of soap (don't know how many batches that might be), and I don't have any that look that good! Your a natural :-)

    The faces behind the names?

Well, after searching through all the pictures on my computer, I could only find one (halfway) decent picture of myself that I wanted to share. I'm the picture-taker in the family, and it has never occurred to me to do a self-portrait, so the only pictures I can find of myself were taken by my...

    real avocado flesh in soap

I'm so glad you posted this, IrishLass! I've been concocting a formula in my head that includes a lot of the same ingredients you listed here (avocado oil, possibly pureed avocado, cucumber, aloe vera juice), and I was wondering how and when to add them. And then here's your post with all of...

    White soap layer pics

I love it!!!! I especially like the waves in the first two layers, even though that's not how you intended it. And the confetti is so fun!!!!

    Newbie here from Northern Virginia

Wow! You should be very proud of your first batch! It's so pretty! I'm so impressed with both your coloring and with the pattern you used. Nicely done :-)

    EOs lost their scent

That would be 0.5 to 0.7 ounces EO per pound of oils in your soap formula. As Barb said, some EOs are stronger/longer lasting than others. Spices (cinnamon, clove) tend to be pretty strong and last forever. Citrus, especially lemon (in my experience) fade really quickly and require a much...

    INCI

Thank you very much, by the way, for the complements on our site and descriptions. My husband and I have worked hard on them, and it's so nice to hear positive feedback. :D

I haven't looked at the links you posted yet, but for some reason I thought there was some huge fee for selling cosmetics. Am I (hopefully!) wrong? Maybe I dreamed that. I'm planning on looking at those links as soon as I get my kids fed and occupied for the afternoon.

YIKES! Thank you Deda! This is one of those things that needed to be planned out before going into business. Guess I need to go through and reword everything.
