    Yikes, FOs are addictive!

I couldn't stop the tide. I ordered Green Tea & cucumber, ocean rain, and sweet honeysuckle FOs from WSP yesterday. I'm dying to sniff them!

The new soapmaker Version 3. is now out and it's HOT!

I got my copy of Soapmaker 3 this week, and I am THRILLED with it!!!!! It does everything I want it to do, and I'm SO HAPPY that I no longer have to go back and forth between all my stupid spreadsheets, manually updating every single sheet every time I made a batch, placed an order, sold some...

    Soap Pot this weekend?

Sorry - a lotus scented bar. It's very floral, and the lotus is sacred in Hindu culture. Many of the Hindu goddesses are depicted rising from lotus flowers. The EO is outrageously expensive ($500/oz), so I use a lotus fragrance.

    Yikes, FOs are addictive!

I'm feeling the strong tidal pull of the FO's... I use EOs almost exclusively, but there are a few scents that I just don't think I can make with EOs and additives (ocean, green tea, cooling cucumber). I've spent much of the day browsing the forum reading all about everyone's faves (esp...

I've never tried it alone, but it is wonderful (and noticeable) blended with peppermint, and with peppermint and eucalyptus together.

    Rebatching questions

If there is, I don't know what it might be. Sorry! Like I said, cooking it in the rebatch may cause some of it to evaporate and therefore make it milder. The only other option I can think of would be to "dilute" it not by rebatching, per se, but by cutting it into cubes and using it as chunks...

Salt bar & SoapCalc/ Lard for laundry soap

Oh, I'm so glad this thread is here. I've been wanting to make a salt bar, and really haven't started researching how to do it yet. So here's a good place to start! When you say 80% salt, is that 80% of the mass of the oils you're using? Or 80% of water + oils? And what kind of salt do...

    Rebatching questions

    1. Will rebatching my soap get rid of the EOs already in it, so I can replace them for some milder scent? In my experience, rebatching will not get rid of EO's that are already in your soap. They might evaporate off a little, and so become milder, but I don't think they'll go away entirely...

    soaping fiction?

Yes, though I haven't read it. Let's see, the author is Chuck Palahniuk. I have a friend who loves his stuff, but I've never read any of it. She says it's all pretty weird and very dark (as if Fight Club weren't an indication of that  )

    soaping fiction?

Awesome! And my library has them :-) I've already got "Dead Men Don't Lye" on hold. I'll let y'all know how it is!

When do you package your soaps?

Same here! I used to wrap mine in cigar labels as soon as they finished curing, but over time the soap continues to lose water and shrink, so the labels would become loose and look not-so-fresh. I'm in a quandry myself about my labeling because while I love the cigar labels, and the freedom...

    "Fight Club"

I totally forgot about the whole soap thing in Fight Club. Too busy drooling over Brad Pitt.
