The soapers generally pattern the tops in waves and they look beautiful, smooth and creamy. My soaps, however, never look as creamy when they're thick enough...

soapcalc will calculate for potassium hydroxide? I hadn't really seen much feedback regarding soapcalc and liquid soaps on this forum. I'd like to try it this way if it works.

I usually buy by the pound as well. Have you been able to find an essential oil for less than $2 ounce?

Do you prefer essential oils or fragrance oils in your soaps? If you use essential, what quantities do you have to buy in to get a good price? I haven't been able to find a good essential oil at less than $2/ounce (and I prefer citrus such as orange or lemon). When people request...

Sorry, everyone, I didn't get to check back because I can't access the forum from work. I just learned something, so PKO is a good sub for coconut oil? Right now, I'm out of palm and I'm trying to decide whether to buy PO or PKO. I have coconut, castor, apricot and castor oils on hand...

Do you have a preference? I know they have different qualities/acids/sap values, but I can build a good soap on either. There is a cost difference and I'm trying to save money. Aren't we all? Which do you use?
