How do you get this look?

Could you use freezer paper and not fold it in the crack? The top is done with a wisk at thick trace but I assume you want the rounded bottom. I have gotten a rounded look when I haven't folded my freezer paper very well. HTH.

    milk comparisons

The reason you use milk in soap is for the fat. So the higher the fat content the more lucious the soap. Goat's milk has more fat than cow's milk and there are certian Goats that produce more fat than others. IMO skim milk is useless for soap as it has no fat. The best cow's milk to use is...

    Moldy Soap!!!!

Are you sure it's mold? I made some Goat's Milk bars and gave them to my inlaws and they told me that my soap had molded. It didn't mold it just got white spots when it was left in the shower I think because the goat's milk discolored to brown as it cured. It would help if you could post a pic!

    coconut oil moisturizer

If you don't want the beeswax you can use btms50. I know it is an emulsifier but it would give it a firmer consistancy plus you get that extra conditioning along with it. Personally I would use the extra virgin coconut cream straight on my face. I have very oily skin so I can't use it but I LOVE...

    looking for oversized individual molds

I use the glad disposable food containers. There are many different sizes and there are rounds, squares, and rectangles. I'm always looking at things and think "could I make a mold out of this?". And the beauty is they are cheap and if they get nasty you can just throw them out!

    My new soaps

Lots of FO have vanilla as their base and yes they will turn. There are vanilla stabilizers out there- I know WSP carries one. Most of the yummy smelling FO's have vanilla in them.

Beginner - how long to become proficient?

I made my first batch of CP without a scale or any special equiptment. I did run my recipe through the MMS soap calculator so I knew my lye was good but I used what ever oils I had in my kitchen. I converted ounces to cups(I wouldn't recommend that- Target has cheap scales!) and it turned out...

    What is Castile soap?

You have to do CP. I do both! I do CP for the way it makes my skin feel and M&P for the artistic pleasure that I can't get with CP. Yes, I know SOME people can be VERY artistic with CP but not me! I have to have my M&P to get beautiful soaps!!!! Go Luck. It's a blast!!!!!
