    Rash after using M&P

Hello Flutter, You'll want to try a sulfate-free base like SFIC or Stephensons. If you went to Hobby Lobby, did you get the Life of the Party clear soap base? If so, here are the ingredients: Aqua [Water], Propylene Glycol, Sodium Stearate, Glycerine, Sucrose, Sodium Laurate, Sorbitol, Sodium...

    Melting of base

HP is hot process but you mention melting soap which would be MP Melt and Pour. Honestly, I always recommend using a double boiler for this as it's the most effective way of melting the soap base. If you don't have one, you can always use a glass bowl or Pyrex type of measuring cup over a pot...

    New to M&P

Welcome Luisa, As listed above, both Brambleberry & Elements carry excellent bases. The most popular are those made by SFIC and Stephensons. There are quite a variety ranging from sulfate-free to those containing goat's milk, argan oil, honey, etc. Chamomile & lavender are quite popular...

    Aggravated with M&P goat's milk

Yes, I only use the double boiler method and recommend it. Another "secret" is to use a regular white soap base and just add about 1 teaspoon of powdered goat's milk midway through the melting process. Hope this helps!

    Took the plunge

I've used goat's milk soap from someone who made it from "their girls" and there's nothing like it! However, M&P has a huge advantage -- you can use it as soon as you unmold it! Great looking soap and look forward to seeing more!

    My 1st MP

Those new batches are so colorful & look like they've been done by an experienced soap crafter! You can add goodies like coconut oil, shea butter and almond oil but keep it down to about 1 Tablespoon per pound of base. So if you'd added 1 teaspoon each it would've probably turned out fine...

A few questions, packaging, website, pictures (not for soap)

Good questions! I prefer micas to be in white or clear plastic jars. They're much easier to scoop out that way. Also, you can sell scoops. As long as the picture accurately represents how the color looks in CP soap, doesn't matter if smooth or textured. Micas in melt & pour soap usually...

How to increase lather in glycerin M&P soap?

Yes, wine works fine in a premade/melt & pour base! I use up to 1 Tablespoon per base, The white won't add any color but the red, cabernet, merlot, sangria, etc. will. In fact, sometimes the red will turn purple instead of burgundy. That's how I got into making & selling wine soap--using wine as...
