    Question about orange oil.

I have used Now Foods Tangerine EO and it faded completely. Citirus EO's tend to do that, and this Companies's EO's in particular. I would suggest searching the posts on here, and find a way to combine it or anchor it, with other oils.

    Help with Crisco, tallow, lard

I use both lard and tallow, but I live in an area where it's practically expected. Whenever I tell people I make soap the responses are usually the same. the first question: 'you mean with lye?", second question: "do you use lard/tallow?" third question: "you mean like on Fight Club?" To which...

    baby oil gel

Johnson's makes a baby oil gel, I use a ton of it, especially this time of the year. I use it as an after shower gel, it 'stays' on my skin longer then lotions, or plain baby oil. What I'm wondering, is there any way for me to recreate something like this product at home? Mineral Oil, Hexyl...

    another soapbox rant

After getting ripped off for this cheap imitation, I might have given it as a gift to a friend as a fabulous creation from one of the "local artists" at this wonderful little town I just visited... How mortifying. Again, you have every reason to rant! Tell that general store owner! He or she...

    Soap curls in cp

Are you going to be able to roll the sheet tight enough with out crack/breakin it? The diameter of the pringles can is kinda narrow. I've never tried so I dont know, it's just the first thing that came to mind. I hope it works for you because the design with the complimentary scents and colors...

    Hardness

I do not know what OO rebatch is, some kinda Mp thing? cold processed soap needs to be in the open so moisture can evaporate.

    Hardness

Can soap (cold process, hot process, rebatch) ever be too hard? yes, I think so My rebatch is like a rock! How did you rebatch and why? I let it cure for about 1 to 2 weeks. Then I actually keep my soaps in zip lock bags. Is this right? cp soap needs to "breath". So no

    Polishing soap?

you can smooth the rough edges by washing your bars. I gently rub a soft cloth over them, under running water. It also helps rinse off any ash, which could be making your soaps look "dull" Oh, I wait till mine are 4-6 weeks old.

    another soapbox rant

cerelife, i'm not defending your cranky soap vendor, but if she's had to deal w/a lot of people who give "handmade" soap a bad name, it could explain her bad 'ttuide.
