Newbie First Batch - HP Papaya Soap

oh and one more thing. If you'll be using those molds for cp, lining them with plastic wrap then assembling insures no sticking! since cp has higher h2o than hp, unmolding can be messier.

    Home soaps vs. commercial recipes

Basia, My hubby is also very very honest, in a kind way. I appreciated his non-sugar-coating. Having said that it took our skin a little while to adjust to handmade soaps. The first few times I showered with my soaps, I went sans lotion (in a attempt to be objective) afterwards, it caused a...

    Tiger Swirl

Very cool. It looks like your orange soap batter was a little thicker than the other two while you were pouring? hence the thicker orange "stripe". In this case it aided in the look of your soap. not at all Halloween-ish.

Milk Soap Makers, Your help is needed

It's not just artificial sweeteners, there's talk of "thinning" out milk with other milk like substances!? Milk will become like processed cheese product. Can you imagen disclaimer's on a jug of milk for heaven's sake? I'm thankful for my dairy goats!

    Soap inspired by Slash

It's a great song! I was like 6 when it was at the top of the charts. Which is for the best, if I had been a teenager I probably would have ran away to become a groupie

    Soap inspired by Slash

Thanks everyone! I had fun making it. I'm just a little put off by how strong the scent is, this is one I'm hoping fades just a bit. But my husband likes it, and he's not one to get excited about my soaps!

    Tiger Swirl

My soap challenge soap was a zebra swirl w/3 colors. Chicklet I also, didn't realize a zebra and tiger were the same animal, hehehe. DW I recently got a rather bold orange, by mistake, with red any yellow oxide. I don't really have any suggestions on amounts cause I was just winging it, but i...

    Soap inspired by Slash

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg3BYU2U6ic I was inspired by this scene from November Rain One of my favorite music videos/guitar solos/guitarists! I just love the back round. The white church against the gray Mt and cloudy sky on the dusty prairie. I was going for a light terracotta, I...

    Leaving Soap in the Fridge

I do the exact same but with a 4 Lb loaf. So far it's worked every time. But To my knowledge I haven't soaped with Fo's or additives that "over heat".And being careful not to soap at too high temp helps also.

    Single oil soap experiment

 good reference Someone brought up sunflower oil. Every time I soap with it, even though I only use it at 10-15%. It makes my whole batch smell like roasted sunflower seeds.

    Single oil soap experiment

I'm curious about the odor from the lard soap. Although I have read about other soaper's incountering it, I have never experienced it myself. (I've never made a loaf that didn't have lard in it) How would you describe it? Is it the odor of the lard itself?

I totally agree! Maybe it's cause I haven't had breakfast, but when I saw Hazel's sugar scrubs I wanted to eat them!

    what I've been up to

The bath bombs turn the water a rather unsavory shade of green. I'll defiantly be using less colorant next time. On the up side they are rock hard! no crumbling
