    When to add sugar

My sugar was added to my soap at a heavy trace and it is not grainy no scratchy .

    Sugar

Sugar did not harden my soap. In fact, it still is a bit sticky to the touch months after being made. Not sticky like lick your fingers sticky, but kind of like picking up a fresh candy cane. If that makes sense. Though, I didn't find that the soap went away any faster than normal.

    how much product?

Hi Scrinch! I saw your posts come up in the daily feed. I noticed that you just did your first batch. When is your church bazaar? Are you going to sell your CP soap? I don't want to be all "big brother" or in my case "big sister" lol, but I'd suggest reading this post as it scared the poo...

Any suggestions for a good photo editor program?

Have you thought about lining them all up and taking a photo and then cropping it down to the banner size? Backlit natural lighting would be perfect for it. Nothing special.

    DOS? Say it ain't so!

I was going to say it didn't look lik DOS to me. But one thing I've always noticed is that DOS is definitely softer than the surrounding soap. That helps me identify it.

    Adding Sugar to Lye Water....

No, no issues other than it's a little sticky, but not so sticky that it makes a difference. I'd say it's like how a sucker is sticky right out of the wrapper. It lasted a long time. Didn't melt (though it was not kept actually in the shower), no weeping and I don't remember it overheating...

    You know that moment....

It was a small batch, so not much lost. Though, the soap is good, smells good... just doesn't match! LOL! Labeling scent blends on soapmaking day with post its from now on. The best thing is, it was a team effort to screw it up, so we can share the guilt. :)

    You know that moment....

When you unmold a really pretty soap and suddenly your red and brown soap smells like fresh cut grass and you realize that you put the wrong scent blend in it? Yeah....

    Sugar in soap attract bugs?

OMG! That reminds me of a day when I showered with a banana smelling shower gel before I went out to the ranch and I was "attacked" by the bees! Not really, but they looooooved the smell and I can't handle bees. They freak me out. Never again, I tell you.

    Adding Sugar to Lye Water....

I stirred a cup of it into my 3lb batch at trace and I have to say, I love that soap! It's lather is sooo nice and it feels really silky. I thought it would be scrubbie, but it's not. I let the soap gel and all of the sugar melted. I was really surprised at how it turned out.

    Labels with Drug Claims

I came across this one today... (I will paraphrase.) I've heard that your products... (cure stuff)... The FDA prevents us from using the word cure... but we have hundreds of testimonies... have been so delighted with our products ... treating their conditions.... They go on to state how the...

    Failure after failure

I would bet the water is the issue. It's one of the reasons spring water tastes so good. It's got a lot of minerals in it.
