Kazmi, this is a recipe I've made many times before, and previously (and currently), just fine. I made two of this at the same time and they both look like this. I just don't know... so weird.
I have Ikea wood shelving. The shelves are slatted so I line the shelves with parchment paper. They are 6ft (ish) tall by 30" x 18" and go together really easy if you have an Ikea you can get to. Plus they are way cheap.
So, this was poured then put in the fridge. As it spent some time in there, it developed the cracks on the top. When unmolded, it had these weird cheese rind corners. They are very hard. Harder than the rest of the soap. When cut, it did have a partial gel, but, it didn't overheat as far as...
My favorite: Take a box of cake mix, any flavor and a box of angel food cake mix. Mix together dry until well blended keep in a sealed container. Blend together 1/3 of a cup mix with 3 tblsp water in a cup, microwave for 1 min to 1 min 10 sec depending upon microwave power. Instant low fat...
It's my opinion that if I could easily prevent cancer by such a surgery, I would do it. I'm sorry to hear about your colon cancer history Cheri. In that case, I would check and check often. But, with things that I can live easily without, like my 38dd jugs and my ovaries (no more cystic...
NPC: now that I'm not typing on my phone anymore, I will try to help you to understand what I'm talking about.
So, 1. all soap will heat up to a point. It's caused by the chemical reaction of lye and fatty acids. Some people will even measure the amount of heat gained while mixing to know...
No, no mica. It is burgandy oxide but totally dispersed throughout not just swirled. I had it happen with mica once, when I used mica in oil swirled onto the top only, soap also put into the fridge for that one. It may not happen when not in the fridge, but since I wasn't happy with that...
Highly appropriate for a manly soap and the women who love them, I say. Fun swirl! :) However, if it bothers you, rebatch. But, if you never say anything, no one may notice, or if they do, they may love it.
It wasn't a false trace. It'd be a pool of goo if it was, instead of the solid log with a few cracks that it is now. After several hundred batches. I think i get the whole trace thing by now. :) My lye is made with about a third of the distilled water as ice cubes to help reach my temps faster...
NPC: It's a floral f/o that previously heated up on me in testing and caused glycerine rivers in my oxide, 6lbs in a wood mold and i didn't want gel. Some serious reasons for putting it in the fridge and soaping real cool. This is the first time it cracked on me like this but not the first time...
Hey all, interesting thing happened to my soap today. It's a layered cp soap that I refrigerate to prevent gel. Anyway, today, the soap cracked along the swirl decoration on the top in a few spots. Not deep. Maybe 1/8in so far....
I have assumed that the top perhaps dried out and started to...
Welcome! I started with a goats milk soap, it went fine. I still have bars over a year later and they are perfect. So, read the recipe good, start small if you are nervous. I did freeze the milk tho. If I were doing a 1/2 milk 1/2 water recipe, I would add the water and frozen milk together...
