    water vs. oil dispersed TD

    I use the oil based, I just put as little oil as possible into the tip of a ziplock baggie, add my TD and then twist the baggie and squeeze out all the lumps by rolling it between my fingers. It works well for me. IF I am adding sugar and other powders I will put everything in a bowl together...

    Lard

    Makes a nice lathery and a white bar of soap. This fat should be combined with vegetable oils such as coconut or palm to compensate for the lard's shortcomings Without other oils it can tend to be soft. Use it as a base oil. Recommended at 70% max of total oils.

    how to get rid of DOS

    One author suggests you keep your Iodine level below 70 and you will never have DOS. I have to agree thus far, I have never had DOS and all my recipes are below 70.
