    Suuuuuuper fluid recipe

This is beautiful. I can't wait to have a slab mold to do stuff like this.

    Looking for a slab mold

I had this idea myself when I first starting looking at slab molds. Have you used your Target box to do CPOP? I'm wondering how well it would hold up to that heat although 150F isn't that hot This confuses me. Why would one have to take the mold apart? If you're using paper to line, couldn't...

What soapy thing have you done today?

With the angle and lighting, the photo of your soaps reminded of a particular fossil, often encased in black stone. Google search says Orthoceras fossil is what I'm thinking of. It looks neat!

    Can I un-rancid tallow?

rancidity is the result of oxidation, so no, you can't reverse that process. Using to make soap might result in DOS if you have superfat. Making a 0% superfat for laundry might work. Note: this comes purely from my chem knowledge, not from soaping experience b/c I'm still new at that. lol

Is there are thread that I can look at that discusses the different olive oils?

    This may also help: https://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/olive-oils-created-equally/

What soapy thing have you done today?

If I'm not actively making soap, I'm thinking about and babbling to my poor husband about it. XD So yesterday I made two batches of soap for a challenge. And today I cut them and reviewing my process. (Also updating my soap notebooks today) The overall process went ok, but I'm prettttty sure I...

    The cell phone technique

I have no advice but solidarity friend. I've had several soaping sessions lately where everything goes well except ONE THING. LOL. I empathize! For what it's worth, I love the look.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Got lye solution and oils prepped earlier this week and about to make two batches for a soap challenge. I'm excited to try a new technique and test out an idea I have. Slowly getting myself into a flow.

Pouring oils cleanly, mixing Palm oil and various other questions(aka tell me I'm not too stupid for this)

Reviving this because the thread isn't that old and this is still applicable. You guys. I cannot pour from the 5-7# buckets. I just... How??? So the house has been getting to admit 79/80 lately (it's Florida, the house is very poorly insulated, and the a/c is struggling. The landlord is...

What soapy thing have you done today?

That sounds like it smells AMAZING. What did you use for that scent? My last BB order was not well packed either, and one of the FOs didn't have tape around the cap and leaked. I messaged their CS about it and they offered to send another one....and the new one had the exact same issue. No tape...

    can i get some thoughts!

That was really part of my point. It may not bother some people, but others may see it as a less professional product, or something wrong with the soap. All depends on your audience/market and as a new seller who already has a lot working against them, it's worth it to pay attention to the...

    can i get some thoughts!

The soaps are pretty, but as others have pointed out, I think a bit more R&D into your market as well as the needs of selling in general will help. I noticed that hair, but also soda ash for example. Your pictures are staged well, but those smaller touches will make all the difference.

    Coronavirus

I really don't understand why the whole "it's not just about you" part is so difficult for some people. Like YOU might be ok possibly getting this and dying a slow, painful death, but I didn't survive cancer 5 years ago to die now.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I cut the soap that went so well the other day aaaannnnd realized I totally underestimated discoloration from vanillin. Welp. Lesson learned. Now let's hope I remember this lesson next time.

I'm so glad you had a beautiful day for the occasion AliOop. 🤗

Hello! New here - appreciate advice.

Hey there! As a fellow Floridian, I might caution against making your lye solution outside, at least during our summer. (So, you know, from now until October ;) 🤣 ) Lye LOVES water, including the humidity in the air. I found that when I measured my lye outdoors, and mixed my lye into my water...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Made a batch of MP for a friend who "commissioned" (in quotes because I'm not really selling yet) a batch for her partner's birthday. Custom scent and tried a new layering/swirling technique. and yesterday I made a batch of CP using a new technique as well and everything went smooth as silk(well...

    Coronavirus

I can't even with Florida right now, more than usual. I went out to pick up lye from Lowes (contactless pick up) and maybe1/3 of the people I saw going in and out of the store had masks and of those, like half even had them on correctly.

    Post your happy

AHHH. While I wasn't as productive this weekend as I had hoped to be(I never am and always over estimate my energy), I had SUCH a good soaping session yesterday. I made a batch in the evening, and in fact didn't think I was going to be able to at all, but I rallied, and took my time and learned...
