    Dishwashing Liquid

Nothing is wrong with citric acid. I use borax because I have it. Just go easy with that and yes, the diluting. :) Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

    Dishwashing Liquid

No I haven't. But you can use warmed glycerin to make your lye water. Soaping101 on youtube has an excellent tutorial on this method. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

    Dishwashing Liquid

I use it for hands too...its a little harsh though. You could always drop the CO to 20% and up the soy to 70% and recalculate the lye. You can also use lard if you dont mind the cloudiness. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

    Dishwashing Liquid

It is easy. 70% soybean, 30% coconut and KOH for zero superfat according to either the Brambleberry or Summerbee Meadow calculator (both calculate for impurities in KOH). Weigh everything and get your oils in the crockpot on high. When the CO is melted...add the weighed KOH to weighed water...

    Dishwashing Liquid

I will share a couple of tips. Stick blend until you get soap on a stick. Cover the pot and place in a 170F oven. Check every half an hour for the first hour or two and stir if it separates. Then just leave it covered in the 170F oven overnight. LEAVE THE OVEN ON. Next morning just weigh and...

    Baking soap in the oven?

No. You can pour it into the mold at trace and insulate or not. It will become soap. Just give it an extra couple of days to cut if you do not insulate. :-) Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

    Dishwashing Liquid

LOL...wish it was the only spatter...I need to deep clean. I like soybean oil in liquid soap...it has a nice skin feel and makes very clear soap for cheap. I don't care for it in bar soap because I get DOS if I use much more than 10-15%. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

    Cp soap for laundry

I agree...if you are a cheapskate like me you can use part lard or Great Value shortening (beef tallow and palm) along with the coconut oil and it will still work well. No worries on it prematurely wearing out clothing. Even lye heavy is not a problem for anything except wool or silk. Excess...

    Dishwashing liquid

Hand wash only...this is not suitable for an automatic dishwasher....you would have a suds overflow, film, or both. Personally, I like the tried and true borax neutralising b/c it is far less likely to cloud the soap. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

how to make liquid laundry soap

This was one of the reasons that liquid laundry detergent is a relative newcomer to the scene. Manufacturers had the same problems trying to formulate a liquid detergent that cleaned well and didn't congeal, separate, etc... They really didn't get it completely right until the mid 80s and...

    Laundry soap help?

100% coconut, 0% superfat is a good choice for laundry soap. After the initial bubble burst it doesn't have a lot of extra suds to cause rinsing or spinning problems in the washer, and it does clean like the dickens, especially on oily soils.

how to make liquid laundry soap

I totally agree. I keep the washing powder on hand for some really foul clothing, and I like it for greasy (non-aluminum) pots and pans, and heavy duty cleaning overall. Nowadays, I usually use my own liquid soap in the laundry and use my own additives depending on what I need....maybe some...

    Dishwashing liquid

I use the coconut to fight grease....rather than add any extra harsher chemicals...if have hard water you can soften it with a bit of borax or washing soda before you add your soap...be warned you may get dishpan hands if you overdo it. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Soap Making mobile app

    Dishwashing liquid

Actually...I think that some of the boric acid is released in the hot alkaline solution. I get a mild tongue tingle when I test non-neutralized liquid soap. That does not happen with my soap with added borax. Another reason why I think along these lines...a little too much borax will cloud the...

how to make liquid laundry soap

Sorry...I should have clarified that...I do everything by weight rather than volume. Oh yeah....KOH gives you soft soap that's a sticky paste....just dilute it with boiling water, keep it warm and covered, and reheat as necessary. It will eventually dissolve. If you get a crust on top despite...
