Canned recipes are a good place to start. Just run them thru a lye calculator. Soapcalc.com, soapmakersfriend.com are a couple. It hard, frustrating, I think I've learned a new language. Lol. But fun, rewarding also. Again welcome aboard.
I assume they use Pyrex or clear containers. In the videos for taping purposes. Someone just mentioned a Pyrex container exploding last week. All my mixing containers are $tore plastic.
Lurking on the side lines. Busy month for me. Major function each weekend. Plus house guests, along the way. But looking forward to next month. Just waiting on a theme. So I can get started. 😉
Hi, soap calculators are only as good as the programmers. That wrote them. And the information they were given to work with. So they will all have similarities. But differences as well. I started with soapcalc. But now use soap makers friend. It works with my oils. Were ever I buy them.
Hello, welcome. I like "spicy brown" on my pastrami sandwiches. But not sure it would be good for soap. Maybe cook with it?? At least use it in some way. Good luck. Welcome. oh, I said that all ready.
Hi, only one metal bottle. In my collection. But have thought of transferring from the "puckered" plastic bottles. Into glass bottles. FO/EO's are expensive. Anything to protect the investment.
The working temps of some of the ingredients. Are high enough. That I use a crockpot now. Kept having to pop it back in micro wave on my first attempt. Good luck.
Oh no, I did buy them. For some reason. They never made the final cut. At check out time in the past. WELL THIS TIME THEY DID! All 8 of them. Plus, the 6 seasonal scents. I originally set out to buy. These will keep me busy for a while.
yes, I do it all the time. with no ill effects. I have scorched milk. (in the past) When mixing with lye. But I use powdered form now. So have not seen/had any problems.
