I was that annoying soaper at the stand!

I did respect that, but the soaps weren't very finished looking, not quite rustic either. it just looked kind of messy just piles of soap that just came out of the mold piled super high. didn't look very inviting.....

    Sales Pitch?

to the OP, I personally don't like that comparing yourself to BBW approach. if someone approached me and said that my immediate response would be "who do you think you are?", and be turned off with your approach. I don't sell, but I frequent markets (craft and farmers). below is the approach...

I was that annoying soaper at the stand!

haha. good for the Lady! I can never confront people like that....I always come off as witchy. and btw - I was at a show and saw a vendor with ALL their soaps in loaves and "made fresh". they said I would have to buy the soap and leave it for 6 weeks before using. i didn't like that way...

    Favourite EO blends with patchouli

I've done one with lemongrass, blood orange and patch, and another one peppermint, sweet basil, patch. I'm about to do one peppermint, rosemary and patch. I like using patch as the base note. I'd love to use vetivert, but it's SOOO expensive!

How do you deal with competitor questions???

say "thank you for the compliment, and everyone seems to be curious about this product (meaning you're not the first nosey person to be asking me about this), but what goes into my soaps are proprietary information that I would not like to share." the million dollar buy-in would work too. haha

Not bad outcome after 3 month hiatus

Thanks everyone for the nice comments! I will have to try it again and not have it overheat... maybe find some other spice EO to swap for the cinnamon. @CaraBou, I was living in Barbados, and moved back to Toronto, Ontario. :)

Not bad outcome after 3 month hiatus

I moved countries back in late June, and finally have soap molds and made my first soap the other day. I tried to replicate this http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?t=41926&highlight=africa and ended up with this..... overheated a little, but not too bad for not soaping after...

    Cinnamon EO making soaps leak?

So, I've done two soaps with two different cinnamon EOs (same recipe, same method), and both soaps are leaky. whereas my other soaps have no such issue. I used 1% cinnamon EO. has anyone else noticed this problem?

liberty naturals have the best price that I've found. I usually get it from NDA b/c I'm in Canada, so shipping isn't as bad for me, but Liberty Naturals looks much cheaper
