    Coconut milk soap

    Knock on wood. :)

    Raspberry Chaos

The soaps still came out nicely. The chaos soap in particular reminds me of colors from an old painting. :)

    Help! Christmas Craft Fair jitters.

Seawolfe has a lot of good ideas. I'm not a seller, but I am the sort of person who would love to see guest soaps. I treat those as the type of sample that I wouldn't mind buying. I can also see letting the customer mix & match their own bath sets working out well. Lastly, you could use residual...

    Coconut milk soap

I stickblended and noticed that the batter looked thick. It was also not the full liquid amount of liquid I used, but I figured that the batter would behave as if I used tea for the liquid. I also realized that I forgot the coffee grounds so I took a few steps to retrieve it. I added the coffee...

    Just The Facts, Please

I don't think there is anything wrong with using animal fats except when there is the issue with one's religion, cultural background, or allergies. I love using lard in soaps and would love to make a full lard and/or tallow soap someday. As far as triple-milling, I'll take IrishLass' word on that.

    Aleppo Soap

I actually wanted to buy a soap combo from Sinfully Wholesome. It makes little sense to do so, but a part of me didn't want to risk a mess-up from making an aleppo soap. Your aleppo soaps look like nice and they already have a greenish tint to it. :) I hope to see more pics down the line.

Meadowfoam oil is an oil I haven't ever used. I heard that it is good on the skin, but I know nothing else about it.

    Coconut milk soap

I fell in love with the feel a while ago. However, that coconut smell will kill me and I have bad luck with EOs in soap. @consuela: if only you could have told me that coconut milk should be stirred, not blended... The pic is crappy, but it proves you right. Thanks for the tip. :)

Poll: Which of the following is your least favorite when soaping?

I rather stop a semi-apocalyptic soaping disaster than face the aftermath of dishes.

The thing about increasing CO is that it may make a the soap too cleansing for some people to use. I remember using a soap made with 25% CO and I really felt the clean, more than I wanted really. You can try including beeswax at 5% max PPO to help make a harder soap. It's an afterthought and...

I never used sodium lactate, but I made one salt bar. I like it a lot and would make one again given the chance. A basic salt bar recipe would have you use 100% CO with up to 100% of the oil's weight in salt added at trace. Most soapers would also use a 20% SF for a salt bar. Another take on a...

I was that annoying soaper at the stand!

While I can't fault anyone with thinking that HP is ready to use (that was me in the beginning), I can fault for the lack of research. That is a horror story in the making...

essential depot soap mold, smaller suggestion?

I bought most of my molds from WSP and 2 of them hold about a pound of soap each (combined weight of the ingredient though). You could also check them out as well.

Soaper's Choice is a good start for the oils and butters (their shipping beats most other places imo). WPS and Brambleberry are pretty popular with other soap ingredients as well. The abbreviations thread also has a list of suppliers' names that you can check out. Lastly, Essential Depot is a...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I cut my my first bentonite soap not too long ago and it didn't come out half-bad in my opinion. Unfortunately, I also discovered a small case of DOS. This is my first case as well. My one saving grace is that the DOS occurred on only one bar. That is so much better than what could...

    1. Salt and sodium lactate both up the hardness of a soap. In addition, salt is a natural cleanser with antimicrobial properties and helps with detoxing. Keep it in mind in case you ever want to try a simple soap bar. :) 2. With the stigma related to palm (unethical harvesting, destruction of...

    Pumpkin Salt Bars: Input Please

I'm lovin' this thread right here. :) I kinda wish I could HP a salt bar, but I definitely have to make a pumpkin soap.

    Bath bomb humidity percentage

I checked a few sites and the following had the best information: http://www.soapyhollow.com/how-to-make-bath-bombs/ If you were to search the page for "humidity", you should eventually come across some responses from DeAnne who suggested using cornstarch for humidity issues. In another reply...

What soapy thing have you done today?

There is no way you could've rebatched the salt bars? I'm genuinely ignorant to that fact.
