    Brambleberry Recommendations

I have two of their 10" silicone molds and I dig them. They're just the right size for me when I don't need to make a giant batch of soap. As far as their fragrance oils my favorites so far are: Tobacco & Bay (my mother's most loved. She makes squinty eyes at me if I deign to hand a bar of...

    Brambleberry new cocktail collection

it was OOB, but a drop onto a paper towel doesn't make much difference to me when it comes to whether or not I'll be able to handle a scent. A drop on paper may make it so that I can stand to sniff it without it eliciting a gag response, but it won't make me like it. There's something about...

    Brambleberry new cocktail collection

So I got the set I ordered today. Kentucky Bourbon is a win for me, I kind of dig it. The Sparkling Fig one was nice too. On the fence about Scotch Whiskey, will have to sniff again later. Spiked Eggnog is a big, giant NO for me. My mother didn't hate it, but it literally turned my stomach...

    Stinky dog dilemma

Does it come and go as he's panting? How do his teeth look? Little guys like this often have horrible teeth that need cleaned regularly and awful breath is a symptom of that. But, if they're very frightened and freaked out they also can express their anal glands, and that REEKS. It won't happen...

    Glow in the Dark Soap

https://www.facebook.com/groups/viciousbeauties/ this is the group I got them from. I didn't have any trouble getting what I ordered and they seem to have lots of happy buyers. You do have to join the group and comment/message to order instead of doing it through a site, but it's not any...

    Glow in the Dark Soap

I got the powder I used from Vicious Beauties - she has a business/group page on facebook and has quite a few things. She tests most of her stuff, I think. I saw this stuff in action in cold process soap before I placed my order.

    Vanilla Color Stabilizer

Thanks! If I decide it's something I want to use more often, I'll look into theirs for sure.

    So Long, Goodbye . . . Soapmaking?

This would also be my guess.

    Glow in the Dark Soap

Probably pretty close to an ounce for a bit over a pound of batter - I was very heavy handed with it. I also charged it for this picture with a UV/blacklight (it takes a lot longer to get a good glow by just setting it under an incandescent bulb and I wanted to make sure it showed bright enough...

    Vanilla Color Stabilizer

A group buy through a Facebook merchant called Vicious Beauties. She's got some really awesome neons too but haven't ordered any of those yet. Posted pictures of the soap here: http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?p=664667#post664667

    Powder Sprayers

Yeah, I went ahead and ordered one and tried it yesterday and frankly it was just a pain. I'm not sure I'll use it any kid of regularly. I did better just using the tea strainer/ball

    Finding work after 55 :(

I have a blog I can point you to: askamanager.org Alison has lots of advice on resumes and cover letters and interviewing that may be able to help you move forward nowadays (and if you like entertainment, lots of other doozies she gets sent to her to answer that are like train wrecks where you...

    Vanilla Color Stabilizer

OK, thanks for that tip IrishLass. The directions on WSP's site said to mix it with the FO, but if/when I use it again I'll do it this way instead and just mix them into the batter separately.

    Vanilla Color Stabilizer

Yes, I expect I'll probably keep a small sliver and see how long it actually lasts. It's just one more thing I have to keep track of when soaping and probably not something I'd be making a habit of using.

    Vanilla Color Stabilizer

I've never used it before, but got the Fruit Loops fragrance from WSP and read that it discolored a little bit and thought I would try a new adventure and ordered the stabilizer to try. Normally I don't mind discoloration - I end up just not coloring the soap and letting it turn whatever color...

    My first five soaps

Quoted for some lovely, wise and gentle advice. Experiment and try bunches of new things, and keep some bars around in various places for several months just to see what they do. In a year, after you've been playing a while, you may discover that you really kind of hate your first recipe and you...
