I used it to try an ombre soap from here http://www.humblebeeandme.com/winter-wonderland-christmas-soap/ and I failed miserably, not because of the indigo, but because I have math issues. I ended up throwing the batch into the crock pot. I did add some blue mica to it after it started to heat...

I tend to agree with Nao. I found that soaping cooler and using a trusted FO (or no fragrance at all!) has helped me with creating swirls more so than the ingredients ( I have soaped with both palm and lard and both have hardened up on me when I soaped too hot or used a bratty FO ).

Same, Cellador. I was the same- a bit grossed out too! I can totally smell it in my 100% lard soap, so I can't use that, but I can't smell it in any other soaps that I have made with a lower percentage. And, it's much easier to find than palm and definitely less expensive.

I used Amazingly Grace FO from NG. It colored by soap batter the most buttercupie yellow you can imagine. I was pretty mad because I wanted white white and light pink. I added so much TD, and it only changed the color to ligher buttercup yellow.. . I thought I'd get yellow and orange...

Witch hazel I actually have a recipe that I use as a facial bar with witch hazel in it. You should be fine :) And, your soap is so cool!

In the middle of soaping, I first neglected to stop my Badger color blender thingie from spinning AFTER I took it out of the cup I was mixing hot mink mica in and 'decorated' my sink, the window above it, and the stove top. There's probably some on the ceiling too; i just don't have my glasses...

Nice soap! I love the color! I think it may be soda ash as well. Google that and you'll find lots of information about it (how to prevent it, how to clean it off etc). Also, if you haven't watched some videos about basic soap making, I'd encourage you to do that too :) Have fun!

this is interesting IL... if you wear make up, what do you use to remove it?
